Who we are

The Digital History Advanced Research Projects Accelerator (DHARPA) is an interdisciplinary team working to enable critical DH practice.
We want to help scholars lift the lid on ‘black box’ technologies, take ownership of their interventions, and embrace their role in the process of knowledge production.

Software & Methodologies

User-friendly techniques and tools to operationalize self-reflexive, reproducible scholarship

Collaboration

A responsive laboratory to rapidly prototype and launch applied solutions

Outreach & Infrastructure

Training and platforms to help you start, sustain and maintain your digital research projects

Our story so far...

  • In the beginning

New technologies are changing how we access and analyze data. How do we ensure that these tools work in tandem with scholarly expertise to leverage critical historical practice? This question is at the foundation of DHARPA.

  • Right now

In this, the second year of the project, our expanded team is building back-end and interfaces while prototyping modules for mapping and textual and network analysis. We are strengthening connections within and beyond our research centre.

  • What's next

As we work towards an alpha version of our software, we look forward to accelerator projects with our colleagues and external collaborators, as well as workshops introducing users to our first release.
